Baked Fig with Orange and Honeyed Walnuts

It’s hard to find a delicious dessert that is healthy, low carb and has aphrodisiac properties to get you in the mood! Following our body confidence in the bedroom theme, this recipe is a winner and has the added bonus of Omega 3s and Vitamin C. Figs are in season right now and delicious, so enjoy!

8 figs
2 tbsp honey
½ cup walnuts, chopped
2 oranges peeled and sliced

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius.

To caramelise the walnuts, add 1 tbs honey and 2 tbs water to a small pan with the walnuts. Over a medium heat, stir the walnuts until the liquid has completely absorbed onto the nuts and they have turned dark golden in colour.
Quarter the figs and lay them on a baking tray. Drizzle 1 tbs honey over the fig quarters and roast in the oven for 8 minutes. Arrange the roast figs on the orange slices and top with the honeyed walnuts.
Serve with natural yoghurt.

Note : Buy fresh figs loose to inspect all around the fruit. Look for plump fruit with the skin intact. the skin should not be wrinkled or oozing. Dried figs should be plump and spongy to touch.
